I'll take you inside the novel

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! 🤗 First of all, I hope you have a happy Ferragosto. 🤪 I'm always looking for ways to share my novel, Vite straordinariamente parallele, so I decided to try to take you "inside" the story. I won't talk about what you'll find already written between the pages, but rather about the extras or special contents. 😯 I'll try to help you understand what you'll find in the book without revealing anything beyond the preview, telling you what I couldn't include in the final text. And not because it was vulgar or violent, but simply because I couldn't describe a character or a particular scene in 360 degrees... otherwise, what a drag! 🫢 Today I want to try to tell you a little more about the protagonist, Alessandro. For those who want a visual idea of ​​how I imagined him, you can find his image in the post "Writing, rereading, changing your mind: the usual journey". For those who don't know, the story is fictional, but characters like this can easily be found around the world. Obviously, my narrative has been exaggerated a bit for show, but listen to the protagonist's life and then tell me if any of you have ever met or heard of someone like him: Alessandro is a forty-two-year-old man, a well-to-toe guy, a beautiful villa with a pool, three cars, and a few motorcycles. Oh, I forgot: he's single and a real "womanizer," because he's good-looking and knows how to handle everything... Hey, you guys are always the same old rascals, always thinking the worst! Even if... 😉 Okay, let's continue with the story. He's also in good health and owns a company with another person. Some of you might say, "Hey, I'd love to live like that!" Sure, maybe I wrote the novel because I too would have liked to live like that... but there's always a but. Oh, I forgot: he has a brother and a sister. He sees his brother because they live in the same town: they talk, argue, laugh... basically, the usual sibling relationship. His sister, on the other hand, has moved away, and our protagonist hasn't even heard from her on the phone in over a year and a half (and that time it was her who called). But be careful: they haven't spoken to each other not because they've argued or there's any resentment. And here we are back to our "but." Since coming of age, Alessandro's first concern has simply been himself: he's put himself at the center of everything and done everything for himself. Let's be clear: he's always worked, he's been a bricklayer and various other jobs, he's not a vagabond, and he's always earned his money. But one morning he sees a person from his past again who stirs something inside him. (So much for the insinuations! Even if...). 😋 That same evening, while he's on the second floor of his large villa and looking out at the pool, immersed in a deafening silence, he asks himself a question. It's strange: you could say he has it all, but he feels like something's missing. Well, I'd say he's missing more than one thing! First of all, he has no friends. Yes, it's true, everyone in town knows him for various reasons and because it's a small town, but knowing someone is one thing, having true friends is another. Let me give you an example: in recent years, I've been visiting (or calling) friends I hung out with as a teenager and hadn't seen in thirty-five years. We hugged and talked as if we'd said goodbye the week before. Do you understand? Those are friends. And then, do you remember? He was in the villa, in a deafening silence: there were no children, no wife, not even a dog or a cat. It's true that there are people who love solitude, or who for one reason or another are destined to be alone, but what do you think he was referring to when he said "I'm missing something"? Well, yes, you guessed it right: family. So what did I do? I took him on a journey into another life... or maybe it was his, and the accident just woke him from his coma and brought him back to reality? I can't tell you everything now! I can't tell you what kind of person Alessandro wants to be like: Those who feel fulfilled and happy in their own life, whether in their twenties or their eighties; Or those people who, since they were kids, dream of growing old with someone else, getting married, having children, grandchildren, and starting a big family (with joys and sorrows, because every rose has its thorns). I won't tell you which "side" I'm rooting for, for obvious reasons! 😎 For now, I'll stop talking about Extraordinarily Parallel Lives (by the way, it's always nice to hear that word!)😁 and its protagonist Alessandro. If I've managed to pique your interest and get some feedback with this post, I'll continue publishing more content about what I didn't write in the novel. A brief update on the new novel I started writing in mid-June: I'm 35 pages deep. I thought that in August, being on vacation from my job Main character,🤪 I could have written much more... and instead I have to face reality and repress the desire to write that's inside me a little.😑 Speaking of other things: as for the fantasy manuscript,🤖 I sent it to a publishing house. They told me that the evaluation period ends in December: let's say that four months of waiting is nothing!
