Behind the scenes of the novel

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog. Today I want to talk to you about a mistake or oversight I made in my first self-publishing of the novel. What do you say? Which novel are we talking about? But "Extraordinarily Parallel Lives". 😁 This oversight still weighs on me today and I always ask myself the same question: could it really have turned out better? 🙄 Now I'll explain better. I self-published the novel and chose Youcanprint as my platform. I'm very satisfied with the choice I made, also because I purchased various services. Clearly, since I care a lot about the novel, I tried to improve it as much as possible, and they have always been fantastic. 😋 Their work is books and they offer many editorial services. At the bottom of the post I'll include the address of their website for those who don't know the platform yet. Now let's get back to my regret. Youcanprint, among other things, made the cover for the novel "Extraordinarily Parallel Lives" and was also able to give some suggestions on how I would like the cover. As the first image in my head, I saw exactly this one. They hit the mark on the first try; I never thought I would see what was going through my head come to fruition. 🤨 I was hit and sunk on the first try, and even the second idea I had for the cover, they realized it perfectly. Then I'll tell you later. Let's go back to the first image: this face reflected in the mirror, let's say that at first it bewitched me a little, and, since I was satisfied with the work, I relaxed, pleased, allowing myself to be a little superficial and not just asking a simple question: can we make this person's face more similar to a person who is present in the novel? Well, this is the worry that I think I will carry with me for another stretch of the road. Then I'll leave it there, on the edge, and I'll move on with the novel. 😉 Let's talk about images again. If you go to the post about my books, don't worry; I'll leave the link at the bottom of the post. Even the image of that woman looking at the pool has its reason, and to know it, just read the first chapter of "Extraordinarily Parallel Lives", which is right next to her. While the other image I inserted in the cover image of the post, that car, was my second idea for the cover of the novel, and yes, that too has its reason. I'd say it represents a chapter perfectly and that too is a fundamental passage. I don't know how to explain it, but everything in this book is there and in its place for a reason. When I wrote it, I didn't even notice, but every piece fit together perfectly. But maybe it was just a stroke of luck. 😁 I'm sorry. I was saying, maybe it was just luck, or maybe I was writing, but someone was unconsciously dictating the words to me. 😕 Well, I still have to delve into this thing, because I also wrote the first two stories in a short time, despite knowing nothing about anything. Well, I'm still amazed. But now let's talk about something else. Let's go back to self-publishing and why I chose to do it, because the novel had been written and was there, on the PC, or on a USB stick, or in a registered envelope, you might say, but where it was it could have lasted another twenty years. Yes, you're right, but after five years I decided to do it, also because now I'm enjoying everything from the beginning to today and I hope I will continue to do so in the future. And this is also beautiful, because every day you expect something or have to do something. Obviously, I take some days off and take them for myself. Another curiosity is that in the first story I wrote, some of the characters' names have changed three or four times over the years, but only the secondary ones, because the protagonist, that one, was untouchable. Then you'll understand why. 🤓 Now I'll tell you a preview of the story: together with the protagonist there will be two deuteragonists,☹️ more simply, two secondary main characters; there you go, I also understood the meaning of that word. But, oh, rockets! In the last six years, you don't know how many words that were new to me I've heard. Here I repeat: this is not my world. It's beautiful to be in it, but I've always been a worker, someone who, when possible, and I can manage, before I went to help my grandfather, now my dad in the fields; we're called that, not earthly. But look, it's incredible what this novel is making me do! And to those people I asked to correct the novel, some of them told me that they found it immature. Well, you know what? I find the novel genuine, written by a person like me, down to earth, not a common person, because that would seem a bit too much to me, but a person from the countryside, yes, that sounds better to me, in my dimension. So, I hope that "Extraordinarily Parallel Lives""I hope that over the years it can reach as many people as possible, because while there are jokes in the novel meant to make people laugh, there are also some serious passages about my feelings towards certain people. Personally, except as a joke, I've never asked anyone to buy the book, and do you know why? Because it really bothers me when someone tells me what to do, and so I will never seriously tell anyone to buy the novel. However, as long as I can, I will always be promoting the novel. There would be other things to say now, but I've seen that I've gone on too long, so I'll say goodbye and see you in the next post. Bye bye.🤗
